A renowned New York-based restaurant group will debut one of its concepts along the famous Lincoln Road.
Major Food Group, which recently opened Carbone and ZZ's Sushi Bar in South Florida, will open Sadelle's at a retail project under construction at 1212 Lincoln Road, according to a statement from developer Crescent Heights. The eatery specializes in breakfast and bakery foods and will include an all-day market.
Sadelle’s in Miami Beach will occupy 10,000 square feet and will be the ground-floor restaurant anchor for the project. The center has 59,000 square feet of retail space spread across two floors and is situated at the base of the upcoming citizenM Hotel in Miami Beach. More retail space will come online with the project's second phase.
Additional tenants at 1212 Lincoln Road include Peter Alexander Salon and Rooftop Cinema Club.
Major Food Group's Sadelle’s in Miami Beach will be the group's fourth location for the concept. There are currently Sadelle’s restaurants in New York, Las Vegas and Paris.
The New York-based restaurant group has invested heavily in South Florida over the past year. Co-owner Jeff Zalaznick previously told the Business Journal that Major Food Group shifted its focus to Miami after the Covid-19 pandemic forced most of its eateries to close elsewhere. Florida's lax Covid-19 restrictions allowed the group to resume operations sooner than in other areas of the U.S., especially New York.
Major Food Group has other restaurant openings planned for the Miami Design District and downtown Miami later this year.
The group has been at the forefront of the recent trend of New York restaurateurs and hospitality groups investing in South Florida's food and beverage scene. Other transplants – including the Ginger Cos. and Host Restaurants – have also cited the state's lax Covid-19 restrictions as the reason for their investment in the region.
