One Thousand Group, the Miami-based development firm behind some of the city's most celebrated towers, has partnered with Bangkok-based Minor Hotels to bring the Anantara brand to the United States for the first time. The announcement marks a milestone not just for Miami's Edgewater neighborhood, but for the American luxury residential market as a whole.
A Brand Built on Meaning
Anantara — meaning "without end" in Sanskrit — has spent 25 years cultivating one of the world's most distinctive hospitality identities. With more than 50 properties in destinations ranging from the Maldives and Vietnam to Mozambique, Austria, and the deserts of the Middle East, the brand is defined by an immersive approach to wellness, healing, and cultural depth. In the U.S., it may be best known as the hospitality group behind the Koh Samui properties featured in Season 3 of HBO's The White Lotus.
Now, Anantara arrives in Miami — and the fit feels deliberate.
The Tower
Rising 50 stories and 650 feet above Biscayne Bay at the gateway between Edgewater, the Design District, and Wynwood, the planned tower will include 100 private branded condominium residences, 120 resort residences (eligible to participate in the hotel program), and 50 five-star boutique hotel suites. Completion is expected in 2030.
The architecture is by Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF) — the firm behind One Vanderbilt in New York and Lotte World Tower in Seoul — in collaboration with ODP Architecture & Design, the team that also worked alongside One Thousand Group on One Thousand Museum and Villa Miami. The interiors will be the first U.S. residential project by Patricia Urquiola, the globally acclaimed designer who has shaped some of the world's most celebrated hospitality spaces.
The result: a tower that is unmistakably Miami, with subtle Thailand-inspired design cues woven throughout.
The Experience
What distinguishes Anantara Miami from the growing field of branded residences is the depth of its programming. Wellness amenities here aren't a marketing add-on — they are the foundation. The building will be anchored by a dedicated vitality center spanning the podium levels, focused on movement, nutrition, and recovery, guided by Anantara's expertise in holistic and indigenous healing traditions.
Central to the project's philosophy is the Thai concept of nam jai — "water from the heart" — representing selfless generosity and genuine hospitality. It's a principle that will shape everything from service culture to the curation of resident rituals and experiences.
One Thousand Group has also incorporated a private rooftop helipad, a signature feature across their portfolio that continues to attract ultra-high-net-worth buyers who prioritize privacy and seamless connectivity.
The Location
The site delivers something rare in Miami's waterfront high-rise district: unobstructed northern views over Biscayne Bay. Its highly walkable position places residents within reach of Pérez Art Museum Miami, the Frost Museum of Science, the Adrienne Arsht Center, and the concentration of galleries, restaurants, and boutiques that define this corner of the city.
The Team Behind It
One Thousand Group has built its reputation on anticipating what Miami needs before the market catches up. One Thousand Museum — the final residential project designed by the late Zaha Hadid — and Villa Miami, developed in partnership with Major Food Group, are the benchmarks against which this project will be measured. Both attracted an international roster of buyers and reset expectations for what a Miami address could mean.
"Our approach has always been to develop buildings that don't yet exist in Miami," said Co-Founder Michael Konig. "With Anantara, we saw an opportunity to bring a globally respected brand into a market that is ready for something more meaningful and experience-driven."
Minor Hotels Chairman and Founder William E. Heinecke echoed the vision: "True luxury is time — the freedom to pause, to explore, and to experience the world more deeply. Miami is the perfect location for the debut of our Anantara brand in the U.S."
Sales
Public sales are expected to launch later this year. ONE Sotheby's International Realty has been named the exclusive sales team for Anantara Miami Resort & Residences.
