The legendary Italian design house Pininfarina is perhaps best known for its affiliation with Ferrari. The car design firm and coachbuilder, founded in May 1930, worked with Ferrari from the 1950s through the 21st century and is now well-known for its projects beyond car design, including architectural and engineering pursuits.
Pininfarina’s latest endeavor, Andare Residences by Pininfarina, will delight both car and architecture enthusiasts. The 45-story tower on Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, was developed by Related Group and will soon launch sales for its 163 bespoke residences. Not only is it the first luxury condo developed on Las Olas Boulevard in 20 years, but it also marks Pininfarina’s first project in Broward County.
Pininfarina worked closely with CFE Architects to craft the 540-foot tower, which has a distinctive wave-like appearance with wraparound balconies that mimic the flow of water. You enter the building through a striking double-height lobby, which is encased in floor-to-ceiling windows. There are large walls for the museum-quality art and biophilic elements—a theme throughout the building’s common areas and amenity spaces.
“Pininfarina’s design elements in living spaces align with its ethos by emphasizing timeless aesthetics, high-quality materials, and innovative furnishings,” Samuele Sordi, chief architect at Pininfarina, tells Robb Report. “We prioritize ergonomics and well-being to create comfortable and functional living environments that enhance residents’ quality of life. We provide a luxurious and holistic living experience reminiscent of high-end hospitality and offer residents a one-of-a-kind elevated lifestyle. The integration of technology, spatial harmony, customization, incorporation of art, and environmental considerations further reflect the essence of Pininfarina’s design philosophy.”
The residences range from 1,800 square feet to 4,300 square feet, with open-concept living areas, floor-to-ceiling windows, and roomy wraparound balconies. Each residence has a gourmet kitchen with custom Italian cabinetry, spa-like bathrooms, and smart home technology. The residences are filled with natural light and feature high-end materials, a neutral color palette, and soft textures. Pricing starts at $1.6 million for a two-bedroom residence.
The tower is like living in a luxury hotel; there are more than 35,000 square feet of amenities spread across three floors that include a health and wellness center, a pickleball court, a wellness spa with salt, sauna, steam, and massage rooms, and hot and cold plunge pools. There’s also a sports lounge with game tables, private conference rooms, and a club lounge. Finally, a rooftop deck with two rooftop swimming pools, private cabanas, a sun deck, and food and beverage services top off the amenity offerings. Pininfarina also worked with landscape architect Architectural Alliance Landscaping to create lush outdoor areas inspired by the city’s maritime roots, both on the rooftop deck and outside the tower.
Andare Residences are located two miles from the beach, so residents have access to the cosmopolitan lifestyle of Fort Lauderdale with close proximity to outdoor pursuits.
“Andare’s location at the foot of the Fort Lauderdale Riverwalk expansion enables it to forge a seamless connection between Tunnel Top Park and the pedestrian walkway that encircles the building,” says Nick Pérez, president of Related’s Condominium Division. “The very essence of ‘Las Olas’, translated as ‘the waves’, served as a muse for the property. This inspiration is elegantly embodied in the fluid lines of the building’s rounded balconies, which mimic the gentle rocking of waves and pay homage to the maritime heritage deeply rooted in the neighborhood.”
