In the previous month, Governor Ron DeSantis announced that tourism to Florida has reached unprecedented heights, reinforcing the state's reputation as a top global destination. The 2023 statistics reveal that Florida attracted over 140.6 million visitors, surpassing previous records. The first quarter of 2024 alone welcomed 40.6 million visitors, the highest number ever recorded for a single quarter.

Revised 2023 figures indicate a 2.3% increase from 2022, with the 140.6 million visitors setting a new standard. Domestic visitors reached a record 129.1 million, while international visitors included 8.3 million from overseas and 3.2 million from Canada.

The growth trend continued into the first quarter of 2024, with domestic visitation reaching a new high of 37.2 million. Overseas visitors numbered 2.1 million, and Canadian visitors increased to 1.3 million, bringing the total to 40.6 million visitors—a 1.2% year-over-year increase.
