Americans now view Miami as one of the safest cities in the U.S., marking a significant shift in public perception for the city.

According to a recent Gallup poll, an impressive 59% of Americans deem Miami a secure destination for both living and visiting. This places Miami in the 5th spot among the safest cities, outshining metropolises like New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and San Francisco.

This notable change signals a historic turning point as, for the first time since Gallup initiated the survey, a majority of respondents regard Miami as a safe urban center. This is a striking contrast to 1990 when merely 17% of Americans considered Miami safe, and an even more remarkable leap from 2006 when the figure stood at just 38%.
